Anthem Of The Seas

Itinerary

Meet the tour leader at Malta International Airport for check-in for your early flight to London. Upon arrival, a private coach will transfer you to the cruise port for check-in formalities and boarding the Anthem of the Seas by Royal Caribbean.

Anthem of the Seas® isn’t the same old song. It’s a thrill ride that packs in cutting edge experiences- like North Star®, which gives you 360-degree views from 300 feet above sea level. And flavour firsts, like creative fare at Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine. Plus, showstoppers like We Will Rock You. Defy gravity with a free-falling experience on Ripcord® by iFLY®. Practice your surf skills on the FlowRider® surf simulator. And witness a spellbinding show in Two70®.

Set against the backdrop of seven mountains, Bergen’s natural beauty and historical charm will stop you in your tracks. Stroll through the Bryggen neighbourhood, with its medieval cobblestone alleyways and red, yellow and white painted houses. Take the cable car or a one-hour hike to the top of Mt. Floyen, and soak in dramatic views of the city and the surrounding fjords with Norway cruises. Encounter trolls - don’t worry, they’re only statues - in the Troll Forest. Later, learn why Bergen is a UNESCO City of Gastronomy with a meal at one of the city’s forward-thinking restaurants, where chefs prepare cold-water seafood and local produce with modernist techniques.

Day 3 - (03 September Sailing)
Stavanger, Norway
Perched on Norway’s dramatic western coast, Stavanger is a city full of historic architecture, quaint cafes and ocean views. Check out Gamle Stavanger, the picturesque old town, where you’ll find well-preserved wooden buildings dating back to the 18th century painted in unique pastel hues. Learn more about the Vikings at the Museum of Archaeology, or visit 12th-century Stavanger Cathedral - thanks to a series of rebuilding efforts over the years. It features architectural elements from Romanesque to ornate Baroque. Then, take the short trip to Prekestol, the “Preacher’s Pulpit,” a rocky natural viewing point overlooking Lyse Fjord.

Fresh air and icy beauty are the hallmarks of Olden, known as the Gateway to the Glaciers. Come here to explore the Jostedal Glacier - not only can you take in views of this natural wonder; you can also head to Jostedalsbreen National Park. Take the three-hour round-trip guided hike to Mount Hoven Viewpoint. More than 1,000 meters above sea level, it offers some of the best views over Nordfjord and the villages of Olden and Loen. The Loen Sky lift will get you there in equally beautiful but less strenuous fashion.

Welcome to the Jewel in the Crown of Norway’s fjords. Geiranger Fjord was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005, but the area has been luring tourists since the turn of the 19th century. Take the Waterfall Walk to the heart of the cascades. The Geiranger Skywalk, at the top of Mount Dalsnibba, offers unobstructed views of the fjord and the glacier, as well as the surrounding mountains. Eagle Road, named after the eagles traditional to the area, features 11 hairpin turns. The highest point at Korsmyra is 620 meters above sea level. Take a bus tour to the top and enjoy panoramic views over Geiranger, the Geirangerfjord and the Seven Sisters Falls.

A historic town with a vibrant past, Haugesund is home to epic Viking tales, a dramatic coastline, and spectacular fjords. Here, Viking Kings ruled until the 9th century when King Harald Fairhair united Norway into a single kingdom. Today, Haugesund continues to bring the country together by hosting the Norwegian Film Festival and Slidajazz Music Festival. And with so many things to do, it’s the perfect place for history buffs and thrill seekers. Visit a Viking village replica in Avaldsnes to learn everything about Viking life. Experience the wonder of Langfoss Waterfall, considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, or trek through scenic landscapes to Himkånå for spectacular views of Lysevatnet lake.

Participate in one of the wide arrays of activities organized during your last cruise day and let yourself be pampered by the attentive staff on board. You will be instructed to leave your luggage outside your stateroom by midnight, as bags will be transported ashore by the ship’s personnel early next morning.

Enjoy your last breakfast on board as your cruise holiday comes to an end. Once ashore, a coach will be in attendance for your transfer to the airport for your return flight to Malta. Expected time of arrival is at 23:20hrs.
