Itinerary
Meet your tour leader at the Malta International airport for your flight to Buenos Aires with transit. During your flight, you can start getting to know your fellow travellers and prepare for the exciting journey ahead.
Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, you’ll be transferred to Newbery airport for your domestic flight to Iguazu. Transfer to your hotel for check in and overnight stay.
You will go to Iguazú National Park and arrive at the Interpretation Centre, from where you will take a hike along the lower catwalks (below the waterfalls) and the upper catwalks (above them). You will continue by the ecological train to the next station called Garganta (Throat), where you will get off the train and walk down a catwalk to the main balcony of Garganta del Diablo (the Devil’s Throat), the most dramatic waterfall. Return to the interpretation centre and transfer to the hotel.
Today you will cross the borders to visit the Brazilian side of Iguazu for a closer and an impressive view. A walkway descends past several viewpoints to a catwalk over the falls, allowing visitors to really get a sense of the power of the rushing water. From the start of the main walkway, an elevator whisks guests back up to street level at the top of the cliff. Return to the interpretation centre and transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival transfer to hotel and overnight.
This tour gives you the emotion of a multiple Buenos Aires. You will see the symbol of the city: the obelisk. You shall visit different squares such as Plaza de Mayo, Plaza San Martín, Plaza Congreso. Avenues like Corrientes, Avenida de Mayo, 9 de Julio, among others. Historical neighborhoods: La Boca, San Telmo, Montserrat. Elegant neighborhoods such as Recoleta, and the most modern: Puerto Madero. In the evening enjoy dinner and a tango show.
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy some free time for personal sightseeing. Late morning, a private coach will transfer you to the cruise port to check-in for your cruise on board the Celebrity Equinox. The ship will set sail at 1700hrs.
A thoroughly modern city with a rich artistic tradition, the reach of the rural estancias is all around you. You can explore the city with a guided walking tour through the charming Old Town, visit a local vineyard for a wine tasting experience, or join a culinary tour to sample local delicacies. Alternatively, you might choose to visit the historic Solis Theatre or take a scenic drive along the coast.
Enjoy a relaxing day at sea, taking advantage of the ship’s luxurious amenities. Participate in onboard activities such as a cooking class, attend a wine-tasting seminar, or unwind with a spa treatment. There’s also time to learn about your upcoming destinations through expert-led talks and presentations.
Another day at sea allows you to continue relaxing or join in more onboard activities. Whether you choose to relax by the pool, enjoy a fitness class, or simply take in the ocean views, this day offers plenty of opportunities to unwind as you sail towards the Falkland Islands.
Commune with the roughly 2,000 intrepid souls who call this remote former whaling outpost home. You can join a guided tour to visit a penguin colony, where you’ll see Magellanic and Gentoo penguins in their natural habitat. Alternatively, embark on a 4x4 off-road adventure across the rugged landscapes or take a historical walking tour that delves into the island’s role in the 1982 conflict.
Spend another day at sea as the ship sails towards Cape Horn. Take advantage of the ship’s amenities, attend a lecture on Antarctic wildlife, or simply relax and enjoy the serene ocean views.
Tierra del Fuego, Land of Fire, is the most isolated place in the Americas, and Cape Horn is its southernmost point. Named after the Dutch town of Hoorn in 1616, its craggy cliffs and windswept shores are stark, with a rugged beauty that creates a dramatic setting for the collision between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Spend the day cruising around this legendary maritime landmark. The dramatic scenery offers incredible photo opportunities, and you can learn about the history of this challenging passage from onboard experts.
No city on the planet has a more southerly latitude. As a result, the sun shines for 18 hours during each summer day, providing ample opportunity to view the mix of glaciers, forests and sea, all framed by Mount Martial to the west and Mounts Olivia and Cinco Hermanos to the east. Choose from a variety of excursions, such as a boat tour along the Beagle Channel to observe sea lions and cormorants or a guided hike through Tierra del Fuego National Park. For a unique experience, ride the End of the World Train, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forests.
This 350-mile journey is a bucket-list experience for most cruisers. Sail through the historic Strait of Magellan, a key natural passage linking the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Enjoy panoramic views from the deck, attend a lecture on the strait’s history, or simply relax and enjoy the day onboard as you continue your journey.
Around Punta Arenas you’ll find soaring mountains, beautiful national parks, vast ice fields and towering glaciers. You can embark on a wildlife expedition to Magdalena Island, home to a large colony of Magellanic penguins, or explore the region’s history with a tour of Fuerte Bulnes. For those interested in nature, a hike through the rugged Patagonian landscapes offers breathtaking vistas.
Enjoy another relaxing day at sea as the ship sails towards Puerto Madryn. This is the perfect time to indulge in the ship’s amenities, whether you choose a spa day, a fitness class, or simply enjoying quiet moments on deck, reflecting on the incredible journey so far.
Explore the region with an excursion to Península Valdés, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its diverse marine wildlife, including sea lions, elephant seals, and orcas. Alternatively, visit a local ranch for a traditional Patagonian experience, complete with a gaucho demonstration and barbecue lunch.
Your final day at sea offers one last opportunity to enjoy the ship’s amenities. Participate in onboard activities, relax in the sun, or take in the views from the deck as you sail towards Punta Del Este, reflecting on the incredible journey.
If South America had purposely created a place to compete with the Riviera, this would be it. Spend the day exploring this chic coastal resort town, with options including a visit to Casapueblo, the iconic home and studio of artist Carlos Páez Vilaró, or a leisurely day at one of the area’s beautiful beaches. You can also opt for a guided tour of the city’s highlights, including the famous Hand in the Sand sculpture.
The ship docks back in Buenos Aires at 05:00. Enjoy your last breakfast on board as you reflect on your extraordinary experiences-from the majestic Iguazu Falls to the penguin colonies of the Falklands and the rugged beauty of Patagonia-you’ll cherish the memories of this remarkable journey. Once ashore a private coach will transfer you to the airport for your return flight to Malta with transit. Your arrival in Malta will be on Sunday 21 December
